We are fully aware with the
importance and the influence of a teacher in our society. A teacher plays an
important role in the character building of a child. So, it is very
important for a teacher to be a man of his letters and must exhibit a
strong character by his actions that persuade his or her students.
Teacher is someone who makes a child and plays an important role in the
personality building of his or her students.
Children spend more time in
schools with their teachers than at home with their parents hence; this
shows how crucial the role of an educator is. And when we talk about
Islam and Islamic teachings the role Muslim teacher is even more
fundamental. In our language we call religious teachers “Qari Sahab”,
“Molvi Sahab” or “Ulema Karaam” who have strong command over Islam and
are considered as the best tutor to teach children about Islam and the
reality of this life. They actually teach children about Islam and the
purpose of life which we actually have forgotten.
Being a Muslim or religious
teacher their main aim is to focus on the Islamic education so, that
children can understand religion in a better way. Actually, it is very
important for every Muslim to know about Islam in detail and lead life
as per the teachings of our beloved Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H)
because this is the only way to lead a successful life. Moreover, if we
are following the teachings of Islam then we can ensure us a place in
heaven. And this is why the role of Muslim teacher is very crucial in
our society.
Islam and Teacher:
Our religion has laid a lot of
importance on education and has declared it compulsory for every Muslim
to acquire knowledge. Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) has said “It is
compulsory for every Muslim men and women to acquire knowledge.”
This shows the importance of
knowledge in Islam. Imagine if acquiring knowledge is so important then,
what would be the status of teacher in Islam? Well, here are few quotes
that would throw light on the standing of a teacher in our religion.
Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said “I am sent as a teacher.”
Molana Ali R.A said “One who taught me a single word, made me his salve.”
Well, this is enough to let us
know the status of Muslim teacher in Islam. We, being a Muslim must
understand it and give our teachers their due respect because this will
ensure that we make progress not only in this world but here after as
well. Teachers should also understand their duties and must perform them
wholeheartedly. They should be devoted and perform their job with full
devotion and should transfer their knowledge to their students so that
they go on to become a good human being.
